Computer Guided Implant Surgery with Procera® (Nobel Guide) is the most advanced, predictable, accurate, and comfortable way to treatment plan and place dental implants. It is an interactive 3D computer imaging system that allows the doctor to plan out the placement of the implant on a 3D replica of the patients jaw. With computer guided implant surgery, Dr.'s Strout and Thousand can actually perform a virtual surgery before ever going to their patient’s mouth. The information gathered from the CT scan is extremely accurate, allowing the doctors to visualize the placement of the implants and allows them to visualize the anatomy of the jaw in all three dimensions. This helps them locate important internal structures and also allows them to measure bone quality and quantity directly from these images.

And with the use of NobelGuide™ a final prosthesis (teeth) can be made before the implants are even placed and inserted directly after the implants are placed.

Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery is the only facility in St. John’s County that has the ability to provide the Nobel Guide and Teeth in an Hour system to their patients.

Teeth In An Hour™

Step 1: At Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery (First Visit)
The fit of your existing denture to your jaw is verified.  You existing denture will be used to help reproduce the contours of your gums.  If you do not have an existing full or partial denture, a temporary “guide denture” will be made.

dscanStep 2: In an Imaging Center (Second Visit)
A specialized CAT scan is performed to collect an image of your jaw bone and “denture-guide”.

step3Step 3: On the Computer
The digital information gather from the CAT Scans are read by a special computer program that generates a 3D virtual image of your jaw.  Then on the computer the whole implant surgery and final prosthesis (teeth) are planned with extreme accuracy and predictability.

  • This represents a 3D image of the upper jaw bone.  This is used to determine the number and placement of the implants.  {top right, tan portion}

  • The surgical guide is used to reproduce how your gums appear over the bone.
    {Pink denture/teeth portion}

  • The location, angle, depth and width of the implants are planned on this 3D image.

g1Step 4: The infomation is sent via the internet to Sweden for the fabrication of the surgical guide.
A highly accurate surgical guide is made with the most advanced technology implant dentistry has to offer.  This guide will be used to place the implants and plan the final prosthesis (teeth).

Step 5: In the office of Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery(Third Visit / Final Visit)

On your way home
Your newly placed dental implants will act like natural teeth.  They will help prevent further bone loss as the bone around the implant becomes more dense and stronger.  The Nobel Guide™ computer guided implant surgery is extremely accurate, predictable, safe, and allows for a virtually painless dental implant surgery.  Allowing you to leave the office with beautiful teeth today ™.

Nobel Guide™ computer guided surgery and Teeth-In-An-Hour™ can be used in both the upper and/or lower jaws even if only a few of your teeth are missing.

Whether a patient can receive the final prosthesis (teeth) immediately after implant placement is determined on a case by case basis.

Some pre-implant surgery may be needed to rebuild lost bone or soft tissue prior to the First Visit of this process.
