Osseous Surgery

Traditionally, gum disease is treated by eliminating the gum pockets. The infected gum tissue is trimmed away and uneven bone tissue re-contoured. Although this is still an effective way of treating gum disease, new and more sophisticated procedures are used routinely today.  In some cases lasers can be used to treat your periodontal disease (please see the Laser section).  There are many factors that go into the treatment of your disease, Dr. Strout will always treat you in the most concervative but effective possible way.  After a thorough examination Dr. Strout will determine which type of treatment is best for your case.
