Guided tissue bone regeneration regenerates the previously lost gum and bone tissue. Most techniques utilize membranes that are inserted over the bone defects. Some of these membranes are bio-absorbable and some require removal. Other regenerative procedures involve the use of bioactive gels.

 

In certain occasions a laser can be used to prepare your tooth and gums for the bone graft.  Then a material called Emdogain will be placed in contact with your tooth and bone to regenerate the lost bone around your tooth/teeth.  In most laser cases sutures are not needed and you will have minimal to no bleeding in the surgical site.
